Bryan Doerries
Artistic Director
Bryan Doerries is a writer, director, and translator who currently serves as Artistic Director of Theater of War Productions. A self-described evangelist for ancient stories and their relevance to our lives today, Doerries uses age-old approaches to help individuals and communities heal from trauma and loss.
During his tenure at Theater of War Productions, the company has presented diverse projects across the United States and internationally. The company uses dramatic readings of seminal plays and community conversations to confront topics such as combat-related psychological injury, end-of-life care, racialized violence, incarceration, gun violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, the refugee crisis, and addiction.
Doerries’ books include The Theater of War: What Ancient Greek Tragedies Can Teach Us Today, The Odyssey of Sergeant Jack Brennan, All That You’ve Seen Here is God, and Oedipus Trilogy. Among his awards, he has received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Kenyon College, was named Public Artist in Residence (PAIR) for the City of New York, and was recently elected a Hastings Center Fellow.

Marjolaine Goldsmith
Company Manager
Marjolaine Goldsmith is a native New Yorker. She is an alumna of Oberlin college, where she studied classical civilization. At Theater of War Productions, she unites all of the things she cares about in one job—acting, stories, and social justice—confirming her formless hunch that all three were inextricably linked.
Marjolaine was brought on to Theater of War Productions as both an actor and Company Manager, and also serves as Producer of TAPE, the company’s project on consent, power dynamics, and sexual assault. Marjolaine finds a wealth of purpose in her work and feels very fortunate to be a part of Theater of War Productions’ core team.
In 2020, Marjolaine was responsible for translating Theater of War Productions’ form into the digital space, making each technical decision to convene the company’s events online in accordance with the company’s values; ensuring audiences are seen and heard during the discussion and the stream of communication is omnidirectional. She continues to serve as the company's digital producer.

Dominic Dupont

Dominic J. Dupont is a Native New Yorker born and raised in the neighborhood of Flatbush, Brooklyn. At the young age of nineteen Dominic was arrested, charged and ultimately convicted of murder. He was subsequently sentenced to a prison term of 25 years to life. In prison Dominic Learned the value of good programming and saw the benefits others were reaping from it. With this understanding and a goal of changing his perception and behavior Dominic immersed himself in a myriad of programs that helped him embrace the values of leadership, mentorship, empathy, compassion, and integrity. During his incarceration Dominic has held the titles of director, coordinator, facilitator, educator, and mentor.
After serving 20 years, 7 months, and 18 days in the New York State Prison system, Dominic was granted an executive clemency in December 2017, by NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo based on Dominic’s leadership and positive impact with the prison system. Dominic was released on January 22, 2018, and immediately began implementing what he had learned during his incarceration to make himself an asset and resource to his community.
Since his release Dominic has shared his story, experiences, and analysis across multiple venues and to a variety of audiences, including Vice and HBO’s documentary titled “Raised in the System”. He continues to live the mantra, “A setback is a setup for a comeback,” and has continued to engage communities across the country to find ways to learn from his story.
In conjunction with his various accomplishments, Dominic also holds an Associates in Psychology from Ashworth College.

Phil Woodmore

Phil Woodmore

Saint Louis native, Phil Woodmore has been an active member of the St. Louis music community for many years. Phil received his bachelors from Saint Louis University in Business Marketing and Music Vocal Performance and then went on to receive his masters from Webster University in Music Education. He is currently in the final stages of his PhD in Music Education at the University of Missouri-Columbia and plans to research the male changing voice during his dissertation work.
Phil taught choir one year at Ferguson and Berkley Middle Schools in the Ferguson-Florissant School District and then went on to become the choir director at Crestview Middle School in the Rockwood School District where he has been teaching for ten years. Along with his work in Rockwood, Phil is the Coordinator of the Voice Program at the Center of Creative Arts (COCA) where is the artist director of the Allegro Music Company, he is the director of the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department Choir, director of the Northern Arizona University Gospel Choir, Artist in Residency for the State of Arizona for a two year term 2016-2018, minister of music at Trinity Community Church, vocal coach to many in the St. Louis and New York and was recently named the director of the Saint Louis Community Gospel Choir in partnership with the Forest Park Community College where he just received a position as adjunct professor.

Born and raised in Winterthur, Switzerland, Matthias "Teese" Gohl studied at Berklee College in Boston, MA. After extensive touring with and composing for local Jazz groups he turned to Theater Music and Sound Design. Credits include: The American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, MA, New York University, Trinity Repertory Theater in Providence, R.I., Theater For A New Audience in NY, and Broadway as Music Supervisor on Julie Taymor’s "Spiderman, Turn Off The Dark".
Since he worked on his first film score in 1988, Teese has produced more than 100 Hollywood film scores including "Interview With A Vampire", "Michael Collins", "Heat", two "Batman" features, "Titus", "Across The Universe", "The Tempest", and the Oscar winning scores for Elliot Goldenthal’s "Frida" and John Corigliano’s "The Red Violin". He continues to produce film scores, most recently "Selma", "100 Foot Journey", and "Still Alice".
